A weekend course for patrol leaders
As part of the Forest school - West Region, a Weekend course for patrol leaders was held in Vodice, from April 15 to 17, 2016.
The course was attended by 10 participants from Pula, Rijeka and Buzet and 6 speakers.
Throughout the two-day course, the present participants gathered valuable information through numberous thematic areas.
Some of the topics were:
- BASICS OF COMMUNICATIONS
- LIFE AND WORK IN GROUPS reconnaissance; Team roles and their purpose; Team spirit and how to encourage
- INTRODUCTION TO PLANNING OF SCOUT PROGRAM - The structure of the patrol meetings; Exemplary meeting in person or through recordings
- INTRODUCTION TO PLANNING OF RECONNAISSANCE PROGRAM - The structure of the patrol walks
- ACCESSIBILITY OF THE SCOUT PROGRAM - Social development of children and young people - tolerance and assistance; Fundamentals and objectives of the Scout program
- ACCESSIBILITY OF THE SCOUT PROGRAM - Special needs of children and young people; Adapting to the needs of the group members
- INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR - The importance of recognizing inappropriate behavior; Triggers and reasons for inappropriate behavior; Emotional development of children and young people; Identifying the problems and possible solutions
- ADVANCED PLANNING OF THE SCOUT PROGRAM - Collecting ideas for program planning; The balance of activities in the program.
The basic theme which ran through actions was the Wild West and the trainees conveniently wore hats and plaid shirts during all activities.
