Nature reliance school
Over the weekend 12 to 14 April 2013, about 30 members of the Croatian Outdoor Survival School (www.extremesurvive.com) stayed in the Science and education center Speleo House in Vodice.
On this sunny weekend the members of the association took a walk along the valley and explored a variety of plant species that began to flourish after the winter, and doing other planned activities such as a visit to the habitat of wild garlic and the identification and detection of the similarities and differences with poisonous plants (arum and autumn crocus). Spending time in nature was also used for learning to read signs on the map and for spatial orientation with a map as well as to make the campfire and mingle with the locals.
In a report submitted to the governing body of the Science and education center Speleo House, the members of the association highlighted the kindness and hospitality of the locals of Vodice noting that these moments will remain memorable. They also praised the comfortable stay they had in the Science and education center Speleo House and expressed their hope that in future they will be able to organize more of such gatherings.
The selection of content, events and activities in the Science and education center Speleo House is implemented by its Managing Authority composed of representatives of the Istria County, public institution ‘Natura Histrica’, the municipality of Lanišće and the elementary school of Vazmoslav Gržalja from Buzet. The obligation of the Managing Authority is to ensure the use of the facility for the organization of the contents of scientific and educational nature or ceding the space for the organization of similar events and activities.
